The VARTA Microbattery/VARTA Storage Group at the Medica 2016
High power microbatteries, standardised and customised Power Packs and hydrogen-gas generation cells will be presented by VARTA Storage/VARTA Microbattery GmbH at this year’s Medica in Düsseldorf, from 14 to 17 November 2016. VARTA can be found at the leading trade fair in the world in the medical sector in hall 15, stand A23. “Medical technology is becoming an increasingly important area of application for our lithium-ion batteries”, says Herbert Schein, CEO at VARTA AG. “Here, safety and longevity are the most important factors for us.”
New Coin Power 1454 A3
Batteries need to be smaller, lighter and more powerful, particularly for applications such as medical products. VARTA Microbattery will present the new CoinPower CP 1454 A3, a rechargeable lithium-ion coin battery. The CP 1454 A3 extends the product line consisting of the CP 1254 A2 and CP 1654 A2. With a capacity of 85 mAh, a diameter of 14.1 millimetres and weighing just 2.4 grammes, it meets customer demands for higher capacity and smaller size. The CP 1254 and CP 1654 types will be launched onto the market at the end of the year with a further increase in capacity. “Its compact, stable structure, coupled with extremely high performance, make the CoinPower battery the ideal energy source for all wearables”, Herbert Schein explains. The cylindrical form and high energy density are ideal for this type of application. Fast charging, a high level of robustness and a durable construction round off the CoinPower series profile.
Another trade fair highlight are primary lithium, alkaline-manganese and silver oxide coin batteries, which due to their reliability and longevity are an optimal energy solution for compact medical appliances.
The right Power Pack solutions for all medical appliances
At the Medica, the VARTA Storage division will show its high-power battery solutions for wearable medical appliances such as dental appliances or surgical instruments. Whether it’s a standardised EasyPack in different designs or a customised Power Pack, VARTA Storage can provide the right energy solution to fit customer requirements. All products are based on progressive lithium-ion technology, and offer high performance and safety. The EasyPack series is already certified in accordance with UL2054 and IEC62133.
Hydrogen gas generation cells for stand-alone applications
The mercury-free hydrogen gas generation cells from VARTA Microbattery offer an optimal solution for mobile, stand-alone medical applications, such as vaccination or infusion systems. The VARTA range includes gas generation cells with highly pure hydrogen for all types of displacement of fluid, paste, gel and granular substances, or for analysis/sensor applications.
